So I've been a single wife this weekend - the Husband has gone on a fishing trip. I've been able to get a lot of things done in his absence. : ) Check out my new crosses!
I think this one is my favorite out of this group. I stained the larger cross and wrapped the smaller one in yarn.
This one didn't turn out very good. I used gold leafing on the larger cross, and it didn't come out very smooth. Maybe I'll try again one day. I think the colors look good together though! : )
Enjoy!

Newest Handmade Crosses
I have finished by first completely handmade wooden crosses!! Except for making the wood, the paper, or the embellishments, I did cut out the cross on my new machine, picked out the paper and wood stain, and arranged the flowers! Yea, I'm pretty proud of myself.... : )
Some of the edges may not be exactly even, but that's all part of it being handmade! This yellow one is definitely becoming my favorite one! I love the rustic country feel to it. Don't you?
Or maybe you like this bright cheery one! I do like this one too. Green has always been my favorite color.
Tell me what you think! I would love to hear your comments. What kind of cross would you like in your home?
Enjoy!

Moment of Truth
It's time for what we've all been waiting.
The answer to the question we've all been asking ourselves...
Does Mrs. McCann really know how to use this machine The Husband surprised her with?
eh... this one needs a little work...
This one is a little bit better... I guess.. : )
And then...
I broke it. I guess I'll be making a trip to Lowe's soon. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon and won't ruin a bunch of wood or blades.
Enjoy!

Hello Again
Wow. It's been a long time since I've written anything... I should definitely get back in to the swing of things!! So what's been going on? Well, we have 3 new puppies, in addition to our 3 older puppies, in addition to our 3 adult dogs. The names: Slug (female), Bunctious (female), and Basco (male). Cute aren't they?!
I'm also very excited to announce that The Husband has bought me a new machine!!
That's right. This crafting business is about to get serious.... : )
I've also been working on a few new crosses... They're still in progress.
And reading a few free books thanks to Bethany Publishing and Dee Henderson! I love free books. So you'll be seeing a few reviews soon.
What's going on in your neck of the woods?

Cross Project
This is my latest project. I made this as a birthday gift for someone. This is one of my favorite projects that I've made so far! What do you think?
Enjoy!
I bought two wooden crosses from Hobby Lobby. I spray painted the larger one and the sides of the smaller one. Then I modpodged scrapbook paper onto the smaller one and roughed up the edges a little bit. I used Liquid Nails to glue the smaller cross onto the larger one. Then I modpodged the little crystals onto the wood and the paper. Pretty easy! And it looks beautiful!
Enjoy!

A Bit of Painting
This past weekend I got into a painting mood! I had some old paintings I did while in college that I didn't like. So thanks to the wonderful idea from my mom, I decided to paint over them. I've only been working on one right now. What do you think?
I think I'm going to add a shadow to the cross and add some words... not quite sure what though. My inspiration came from a beautiful cross that is hanging up in our house that we got at a wedding shower.
Oh! One other thing! The church I attend is having a Super Couponing event this Saturday. So if you are in the Ruston area around 10 am this Saturday, stop by Calvary Baptist Church and check it out! If not, then check back here early next week, and I'll share all the wonderful coupon secrets we learn! : )
